HELEN MORSE is well known to theatre-goers for decades of work in the classics, contemporary plays and music theatre, most recently in JOHN directed by Sarah Goodes (MTC); WIT with Artisan Collective, Dreamers, The Rain, Ivanov and Duets for Lovers & Dreamers (fortyfivedownstairs). Recent performances include Daniel Keene’s Photographs of A (Antechamber/NEON); Michael Gow’s Once In Royal David’s City (Belvoir); KAGE’s Sundowner (national tour); Love.War.Death.BREL (Adelaide Cabaret); Tim Winton’s Signs Of Life, Joan Didion’s The Year Of Magical Thinking (Kate Cherry/BSSTC) and Robyn Archer’s Architektin (STCSA). Many productions for MTC include: Frozen, A Little Night Music, Arcadia; she played Katherine Mansfield in Alma de Gröen’s The Rivers Of China; received a Green Room award for de Gröen’s play about Anna Akhmatova, The Woman In The Window and played Theodora Goodman in Adam Cook’s adaptation of Patrick White’s The Aunt’s Story (MIF and Belvoir). Helen toured nationally with Death & the Maiden (STC); Duet for One and Nick Enright’s Good Works (Kim Durban/Playbox). Recitals include The Power of Love - devised with Paul English and violist Isabel Morse (45Downstairs) and Jean Anouilh’s L’Invitation au Chateau which she adapted and performed in concert with PLEXUS Trio (Port Fairy). Helen was recently nominated for an AACTA award for her performance as the housekeeper/cabaret artist Lotte in Fred Schepisi’s film The Eye of the Storm.
